Hellooooo!

It's Sunday, and I actually get to just be at home today.  I am spending the day preparing for an artwork unveiling at the WECHC Heritage Hub tomorrow.  I'm so very grateful for the chance to work with a local high school art class and the Hub to create some wonderful pieces of art to reflect community, individuality and the concept of a hub and what it means on both of those levels.  What a wonderful opportunity to get involved in something inspiring, and I look forward to honouring that at the unveiling event tomorrow.

On another note, I spent my day yesterday learning about the value of using puppets in an art therapy practice, and I also got the chance to create my very own puppet!!  How awesome is that?  I had no idea what my puppet would be as I began the process and I decided to just let it unfold as it was meant to, with no real preconceived ideas.

Lo and behold, Nona came to life as soon as I placed her kerchief on her feathered head.  She is a lovely old wise English gal, who still has some spunk left in her!  She loves to dance and flit around, is very kind and helpful to others and even enjoys playing the odd trick once in a while.  She has a very special all-seeing eye that helps her to look beyond the surface of things.  And she also likes to carry her special stone and offer it to those who are in need of a gift.  I look forward to creating some friends for Nona to share my studio with.  I'm sure she'll love that!

Happy Sunday, everyone!
